Who's behind GatherShift

I'm Dr. Temitope (Victor) Johnson, founder and CEO of GatherShift. I built it for healthcare and DSP staffing agencies, so they can stop running the business out of spreadsheets, paper timesheets and group texts. I want them to get back to the work that matters: taking care of people.

Where I come from

I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. In the Boys' Brigade at All Saints' Anglican Church I became one of the first violinists in a brand-new string program, with a few teachers and limited access to music resources. I taught myself most of what I know from there. That habit has stayed with me: pick up something hard, practice it every day, and get it right.

I came to the United States in 2013 to study computer science at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, where I also played in the chamber orchestra, and I've made my home in Maryland since. As CEO of Cypress Myrtle Enterprises, my first IT and consulting company, I've spent years in data analysis and third-party risk management: making sure records are complete, controls hold and nothing slips through the cracks.

Why GatherShift

Agencies carry that same responsibility every day, usually with far less help. A lapsed CPR card, a missing timesheet or a retyped invoice isn't paperwork; it's a caregiver who can't work, a client who doesn't get care, or a payroll that runs late. GatherShift brings the whole shift-to-paycheck cycle into one place:

• Scheduling and shift fill, with credential tracking so only qualified staff get booked.
• Mobile clock-in/out, paper timesheet capture and mileage.
• Approvals that flow straight into client invoices, synced to QuickBooks Online.
• Payroll exports for ADP Workforce Now, Paychex Flex and QuickBooks, with overtime worked out.

Outside of work, I'm an associate pastor in Parkville, Maryland, a worship leader and multi-instrumentalist, and I'm reattempting the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon violin playing before the end of 2026.
